NINE BEATS Rev Vince Anderson in concert – Brighton
An evening of music with Rev. Vince Anderson, part of NINE BEATS COLLECTIVE – a collaboration of artists, musicians and songwriter from across the World who have come together to make a soundscape of songs, instrumentals and spoken word that explores the ancient wisdom known as ‘the Beatitudes’.
Rev Vince brings his unique talent to Brighton for a one off solo gig before heading back to his Brooklyn home base and his regular weekly slot at Union Pool on Monday nights with “The Love Choir” – as regular gig he has performed for over 20 years.
He calls his music ‘dirty gospel’, a term reflecting both his musical influences and his theological perspective. It’s a high energy mix of blues, jazz and improvisation delivered courtesy of an amazing gravelly voice and extraordinarily nimble keyboard work. Vince has been quite rightly described as ‘a force of nature’ and he can (and will) get a room full of people jumping and dancing as he reinvents old classics and invites his audience to join in with an ‘Amen’.
He serves as a musician at 2 New York City Churches and he’s toured internationally as well as played with artists such as The Roots, Daniel Johnson, and Melvin Van Peebles.
Rev. Vince is currently setting the book of Psalms to music
